  • Amaya Allen is a rising junior from New Jersey studying Economics on the Public Policy track. At Brown, she serves as the Community Relations Co-Chair of the Economics DUG, an outreach leader of Brown Christian Union, and a researcher for the Brown Healthcare Advancement Journal. She also works as a research assistant for the School of Public Health and as an economics tutor for the Sheridan Center. In her free time, she enjoys working out, reading literary fiction novels, and baking.

  • Sofia Bohorquez (she/her) is a rising Junior concentrating in International and Public Affairs on a public policy track and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She is from Miami, Florida (and always willing to talk about it)! She is especially interested local public policy as it relates to the in the privatization of public education.

  • Kristine Carrillo is a rising junior from Santa Barbara, California. She is concentrating in Education Studies and International and Public Affairs. At Brown, she is involved in the Swearer Center as a Bonner Community Fellow, a member of the Admissions and Access team of Students for Educational Equity, and works with the Administrative staff for the Education Department. Outside of Brown, she worked as Recruitment Manager for Breakthrough Providence, an organization that prepares underserved students in the Providence community in academic enrichment, social-emotional and leadership development, and college preparation through school-year and summer programming. Currently, she interns for Mission Scholars, a nonprofit organization that provides college access guidance and career development training to first-generation and low-income students, and serves as the chair of their Student Advisory Council.

  • Natalie Chen is a rising sophomore from Bethesda, Maryland and planning to concentrate in International and Public Affairs on a public policy track and pursuing a Certificate in Data Fluency. At Brown, she is a copy editor for the Brown Daily Herald, a writer for The Critical Review, and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She’s interested in exploring public policy, law, the social sciences, and economics. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and going on walks.

  • Maxwell Cozean is a rising junior from Haddam, Connecticut, studying Applied Mathematics-Economics and Education Studies. At Brown, he is a site lead of the Swearer Center affiliated organization English for Speakers of Other Languages, an operations associate for TEDxBrownU, and on the executive board of the Applied Math Undergraduate Group. He is interested in exploring data-driven solutions to unequal opportunity in the United States and hopes to use quantitative methods to inform transformative policy decisions within the education sector.

  • Alexander Dufort is a rising senior from Norwich, CT and Haiti, concentrating in Political Science and Sociology. At Brown, he is a Community Outreach Coordinator for Students of Caribbean Ancestry and a member of Beta Omega Chi fraternity. This past semester he interned with Governor McKee’s Office through the Governor Frank Licht '38 Internship Program. Outside of schoolwork, Alexander enjoys playing basketball and reading.

  • Ella Edmonds is a rising junior from Hanover, New Hampshire concentrating in Applied-Mathematics and Economics. She is a goalkeeper for the Slovenian National Field Hockey Team as well as the Brown Varsity Field Hockey Team. She has been working as a research assistant in the economics department. In her free time, she loves searching for great food in Providence. She hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in economics and is interested in issues related to public health.

  • Nick Gibson is a rising senior from Atlanta, Georgia, concentrating in Science, Technology, and Society. At Brown, he is the Co-President of the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) First Generation and Under-presented in Medicine (FURM) Committee, which provides academic and social support to PLME students historically underrepresented in medicine. Nick enjoys investigating the cause and amelioration of racial health disparities. Previously, he worked with the Emory Sociology and Surgery Departments to examine the associations between historic redlining and hotspots of firearm violence in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Grace Moore is a rising junior from Indianapolis, IN concentrating in Sociology. She has a strong passion for studying higher education and policy, as well. At Brown, she is an Events Director for Fashion@Brown, a Bonner Community Fellow, and a First Year Fellow for the Orientation Welcoming Committee 2023. Outside of Brown, Grace is a Policy and Research Intern for the New England Board of Higher Education.

  • Maya Mangiafico is a rising senior from Medfield Massachusetts concentrating in Economics. At Brown, she is a member of the varsity women's ice hockey team as well as the Brown annual fund student committee. She formerly worked on campus with the CareerLab as the employee relations intern where she assisted the ER team in industry research and outreach.

  • Ananya Narayanan is a rising sophomore from Nairobi, Kenya and is concentrating in Applied Mathematics – Economics. She is passionate about researching social inequalities and finding innovative solutions to them. At Brown, she is a member of the Women In Business E-board and is involved in the Brown Political Review, Model United Nations and Healthcare Investments Group. She also works at the Nelson Entrepreneurship Center. She enjoys listening to music and long walks.

  • Sudy Qin is a rising junior from Dallas, Texas. She is concentrating in Economics and Education. At Brown, she serves on the e-boards of Women in Business, Chinese Students Association, and Rogue Fashion. She is involved with Downcity Design, a local arts education nonprofit, through the Swearer Center Community Corps and iProv programs. She also works as a research assistant for the Education department.

  • Joe Saperstein is a rising senior from New York City concentrating in Urban Studies. At Brown, Joe is a tutor with Brown Refugee Youth Tutoring and Enrichment (BRYTE), a Meiklejohn Peer Advisor, and works as a research assistant on Professor John Logan’s Urban Transition Historical GIS project. Joe is also an active member of the Jewish community at Brown and in Providence, working as a religious school teacher at Temple Beth-El.

  • Tai Tworek is a rising junior from Ann Arbor, Michigan, concentrating in Social Analysis and Research with a specific interest in public health. On campus, Tai is a member of the Brown Women’s Club Soccer team, will be a facilitator for the Brown Organization of Mulitracial and Biracial Students (B.O.M.B.S.), and is an advocate for Connect for Health. Outside of class, she enjoys running, cooking, and reading.

  • Brielle Wheeler is a rising junior majoring in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). At UMBC, she is a member of the Sloan Pre-Doctoral Economics Fellows Program and the UMBC Wind Ensemble. She is also the Second Vice President and Financial Secretary for the Lambda Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Brielle hopes to continue economic and statistical research in public policy.
