Since Spring 2009, AISR has partnered with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) in support of the ambitious reform agenda, entitled "MNPS Achieves," launched under the leadership of Director of Schools Dr. Jesse B. Register.  An AISR research team conducted its first evaluation of the system-wide transformation through July 2010; its second report, covering August 2010 - May 2011, was issued in December 2011 to inform a meeting of the reform effort's National Advisory Panel (NAP). The last report was issued in November 2012.

The five-member NAP was recruited by AISR in fall 2010 to help conceptualize, provide feedback, and suggest improvements to the reform model’s design and implementation. On December 15-16, 2011, the NAP convened in Nashville for a series of discussions around the major reforms currently being implemented in the district. This summary of the meeting presents key themes and challenges, suggested next steps, and questions posed by NAP members.
