Central Falls, RI
AISR supports the Central Falls School District by documenting its transformation process for Central Falls High School, identified as a persistently low-achieving school. The intervention aims to increase graduation and mathematics proficiency rates and improve the school culture and climate. AISR is conducting interviews, observations, and data analysis, which will culminate in a case study, to be shared with internal and external stakeholders, describing the challenges and successes of the school’s turnaround effort.
AISR is also working in Central Falls as part of its support for two initiatives of the Nellie Mae Education Foundation: District Level Systems Change (DLSC), aimed at developing, promoting, and deepening student-centered learning models in secondary schools across New England, and the Opportunity Fund, designed to support organizations that are engaged in youth and parent organizing for school reform. AISR provides technical support for the Central Falls School District, one of seven DLSC planning grant recipients, and Young Voices, an Opportunity Fund grantee based in Central Falls and Providence.
