AISR's Keith Catone to Lead Teacher Activism Session at RWU’s Urban Ed Conference (10/14-15)

Keith Catone will lead tomorrow’s closing session on teacher activism at the two-day, ”Putting Equity into Action” conference, hosted by Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I.  More than 150 urban educators are expected to attend the event, presented by RWU’s School of Education, which is focused on sharing perspectives, enhancing practice and assuming a more active role in shaping urban school policy.  Each session will focus on specific “hot button” issues such as mandates, testing and collective bargaining, and will help participants consider what methods help close the achievement gap and how those practices can inform policy.
