Announcement, agenda [PDF: 1 page]

Newport residents and community members presented their views on how best to reform Newport’s public schools at a community forum on May 13, 2009, at Rogers High School. Warren Simmons gave a presentation about the UETF’s preliminary recommendations, and superintendent Jack Ambrogi and the school committee presented a demographic and academic profile and progress report. The forum also included a question-and-answer period and small group discussions to gather input and feedback from attendees.

Just before the forum, Simmons discussed the recommendations on WADK 1540 AM radio with Jo Eva Gaines, chair of the Newport School Committee, as part of the second of a series of monthly air time on WADK for Newport Public Schools to promote public relations and community outreach.
